Does Boxee Box support search for local (music) files?

Hi guys

Just bought a Boxee Box and absolutely love it.

However, there is one thing that is nagging me. Whenever I search for an artist, a cd or a song the results always point to www and not local. Quite frustrating when you have 20+ Gb of music on a NAS.

I have been searching the forums and the tickets on jira in order to find out whether Boxee Box actually support local search for music files - and so far I haven't been able to find a clear answer to the current status.

So: Can anyone tell me if BB at the present time supports searching for local music files? And if so, what I need to do in order to get my BB to include my local music (which has been scanned and indexed) when searching?

Unfortunately it does not. I can't recall if it a JIRA issue was filed for this or not though I mentioned it the developers very early on.

What would be the appropriate way to "lobby" for the implementation of this feature?

How nuts is that. All this local content, and no way to search it. At least you can parse movies based on genre.

You CAN search for local movies and/or TV shows as long as Boxee has identified them. The issue in this thread is about searching for local music.
