Question Non Intel machines running Leopard System 10.5.6

Hi folks, I hope this isn't an old thread, I am a brand new group member and after briefly searching the threads, I do not immediately see a similar problem. I am running an Imac G5, Leopard, System 10.5.6. The download page says that it supports Tiger up until 10.4, and it also supports Leopard over 10.5 on Intel machines. No catagory for non-Intel machines running Leopard 10.5 and up. Is this the fact? What happens to the folks that have all those non-Intel machines? Is there something coming in the short future? This application excites me and I would love to partake, but it appears that people running Leopard, System 10.5 and up on non-Intel machines are stuck in limbo. I hope it is only temporary, or there is already a fix somewhere. Thanks in advance for any help, cheers....

boxee does not support ppc... this is unlikely change in the near-term.

i run boxee 0.9.20 on: ubuntu 9.10, windows xp sp3 (virtual machine), windows 7 and a neuros link hacked to all hell.

what super powers does a 'super mod' have? the 'super ban'... that, and laser vision.

Thanks for the swift reply, but aren't all machines up until the Intels ppc's. Is your macbook running os x 10.5.6 an Intel machine? Seems like they are dismissing an awful lot of machines out there. What is one to do:~(

it's in now way 'dismissing'... boxee would run on your toaster, if it could... it's a huge undertaking, and team-boxee does not have the resources.

the process can't start in boxee, it has to start upstream in xbmc:

trust me, we know people want it... there are two other posts about it just in the last 24hrs; but, until xbmc runs on ppc there is nothing that team-boxee can do.

    Default I want my BOXEE!!!

I do not mean to sound like I do not appreciate what boxee is trying to do, but aren't there more machines NOT qualified than qualified at this point? Methinks it would behoove them to get a PPC and work on it. My Imac is as current as it can get without being an Intel machine, and I have many friends that also CANNOT run boxee, as a matter of fact, not one of my Imac friends will be able to run it. Maybe I am just talking out of my @#$@$, they probably just do not have the resources right now. Sorry for sounding flippant, but I want my BOXEE!!!

    boxee runs on:
linux, windows, atv AND intel macs.
are you saying there are more ppc macs than all of intel machines that run those operating systems?

you're really not understanding the undertaking it is to port xbmc (not boxee) to ppc.
please read over the link i provided... also, if you know c++ you could submit patches to xbmc.

Macs have been available with Intel for 3 years, and exclusively as Intel for 2.5 years. Considering the balooning market share numbers for Apple in that time; I'd estimate that your statement is incorrect.

That's not to say I wouldn't support a PPC port--but as has been pointed out--its a huge undertaking that (given that no new mainstream computer systems are using PPC) won't bear much fruit.

XBMC runs on PPC!!!!!I know because I installed it on my G5 and I plan to install it on my two Powermac G4s . I have also installed XBMC on y iMac G4 Flat Screen. So it looks to me anyway that a PPC port can be easily done.

All this talk about no support for PPC, but does boxee support Tiger with PPC. This is not clear.

Tried to download boxee on my leopard non-Intel mac which I use at home (I have three personal Intel IMACS at school, but they are much too big for my tiny NY apartment).
Will I have to find a Mac Mini on craigslist to use at home?
