    Default YouTube Leanback problems?

    Okay, so now that Boxee has worked out most of the major issues that affected me, I decided to check out (again) the YouTube app that never quite worked for me. It still has big issues.

    Primarily, the Search ability doesn't work. It says just to "start typing", so I do, and that works fine, but there is no Enter key. If I use Enter on the remote, nothing happens. So how do you tell it to commit a search??

    You keep typing your search term until you start seeing what you want on the right.

    Then you navigate right and start scrolling down the search results / list of videos

    Hmmm... thanks for responding, Darcy. Nothing ever seems to show up over there. I will give it another shot tonight.

    Also, on subscriptions, it seems to show one item at a time. It doesn't give a visual indication that the items are scrollable, either. As a fellow developer, and a darn good one if I say so myself, I'm disappointed that this YouTube app is so clunky.

    Yeah YouTube/Google can't quite seem find their UX footing with their content and the 10' screen, and while it's not saying much, I think this has been their best effort to date

    For search, try this: navigate to search, click ok/enter on the remote. This should bring up the OSD keyboard but you can ignore it and use the remote keyboard. As you type, results should show up in the right pane. This worked really well for me yesterday, actually.

    For subscriptions, once your on "one", navigate right and it should start loading up the next few vids, though once or twice, it did seem the app got "stuck" and I ended up restarting the app.
