    Smile Android AirPlay Apps?

I'm interested in Apps to stream Music, Photos and Video from an Android device. I've taking this from a thread in the Boxee Media Manager and Ipad App Help section:

The media can reside on the Android device, or it can be sourced from Twonky and other media servers running on your PC (tested) or Mac (haven't got one). There seem to be some issues eg changing volume on the audio from the Android device seems to lock up the Box's streaming reception, but if you discover what the gotchas are and avoid them, it's handy.

The Twonky Mobile app is also available for the iPhone, and at a glance I can't help wondering whether it actually makes a complete alternative for the Boxee app??

Doubletwist Airsync - http://www.doubletwist.com/airsync/ - would probably work but I've not tried it, as it appears to need iTunes which I don't have.
Tried Twonky and I get very hit or miss performance... sometimes the audio doesn't even play or plays start/stop. Pictures won't work for me, always saying incompatible mime type or something like that. I actually got a video to play after having the same mime message... but never managed again.

Tried Doubletwist Airsync, you don't need iTunes you just need to get their player for your phone first as the airsync is like a plugin for it (here https://market.android.com/details?i....androidPlayer). It actually streams songs really well and the user interface is a lot friendlier than Twonky.... however... unfortunately it seems to stop after one song ... you have to skip to the next manually. It doesn't do this when playing just on the phone so it is a little weird. Didn't get a chance to try the video which was a shame as I had to get a refund within the 15 minutes.

Give the Doubletwist stuff a go and let us know... I can't refund it again so don't really want to pay for something I might not use.

I've also tried iMediaShare and although it sees BB it never seems to get there... just a spinning circle once I hit play on the phone... and BB acts like nothing is trying to play... weird.

    Default Nothing for free?

Are there maybe any free apps to stream content to the BB? My trial on Twonky Mobile is already expired since I tried it some time ago before I had the BB. And all the other Apps have no trial or are not able to stream to the BB. Some do not even recognise it in the network.

The BB Team should really do something here since every damn TV is compatible with these normal DLNA players which usually are free to get on the Android Market. They put I bit too much love to the Apple side since they already have air Play build in. =(

Please more recommendations if you have any. Thx

I actually bought Doubletwist Airsync in the 10c sale recently ... if you keep an eye out it may appear again in the remaining 2 days.

It still only streams one song but it streams video really well. I'm hoping they can fix the one song issue and then it would be perfect (apart from the normal price!).

    DNLA would be really nice.

i'm getting the same 1 song play issue as well. I reported it to the doubletwist team, and they're suggesting that because i have a custom ROM on my phone (SGS2), it might be intefering with their API calls.

M1ster_Happy can you tell me what phone you have and if you have put a custom ROM on it?

at the moment i'm trying to get my 3G iPod touch up and running so i can test if it has the same problem with my boxee box that my android has

    Unhappy

OK, i tried with a stock HTC Desire S, and it still had the problem, so i think we can rule out the custom ROM thing.

I then tried with an AppleTV and it worked flawlessly, so i think there's a problem with the boxee box. i will log a jira ticket.

here's the JIRA ticket. please vote for it if you experience it

See http://forums.boxee.tv/showthread.php?t=56635 for some other Android app ideas that "work" with AirPlay and Boxee.
