PPTP is the one you want..
you can either use the Boxee VPN, or run the VPN on your router (if it has vpn pass trough)
Running on a router is guaranteed to work on Boxee, running it on Boxee you could run into issues with Netflix and Vudu not loading (because of boxee blocking it)

I run Witopia, so i have no experience with iBVPN

    Thankyou for the reply

Will Witopia work in Boxee Box for Netflix?

I really don't like the idea of putting the VPN through the router in case it slows everything down..
I tried a VPN a couple of years ago...forget which one...I ran it in Windows Xp, and seemed to slow considerably

    Any thoughts? delavoie

I have run my vpn on both boxee and on my router..
Most of the time i just run it on the router, because i don't like using Boxee to watch Netflix or Vudu anymore,, i find it not stable and it's slow. (content not available errors, when it works fine on PS3)

I usually use my PS3 to watch Netflix and Vudu, and ATV 2 for netflix also. (plus you get DD 5.1 on ps3)
Nice thing with running it on my router is that i can use my iphone/ipod touch to listen to Pandora radio and other US only services.
With witopia i have never had any issues with speed.. i have a 8MB connection and it pretty much always runs at full speeds, unless i connect to a UK server to watch music videos on VidZone on PS3, then it might drop to 6MB.

And yes Witopia will work for Netflix on Boxee, pm me to find out how.
Boxee blocked Witopia when trying to load Netflix, but i know how to get around it. How long it will last, that i dont know.
But if they do block it again, running witopia on your router will solve that. They'll never be able to block it when it's running on your router.

    Hi,

There are two ways to connect the boxee box to the VPN servers.

The first method will be to setup it from the Boxee Box Network menu. Use the server's IP address in the settings.

The second method will be to configure the VPN on your DD-WRT router (if this option is available to you). You can follow the ibVPN DD-WRT tutorial here:

    http://www.ibvpn.com/billing/knowled...VPN-setup.html

I used ibVPN and it works.

I used ibvpn as well, but didn't worked for me as good in Canada The common problem is random connection dropouts. I'll suggest you to go for unblock-us.com which is a way better option for streaming of geo blocked content on BB from US & UK . It's cheaper and more reliable than VPN on BB. Also it won't eat up your ISP banwidth, son loss of speed. They've one week trial without providing any credit card info, go ahead grab your trial and you won't be disappointed
