    Default Wow HTML5 ROcks!

    Hi.

    Just wanted you to know.

I've been struggling like the last 3 weeks with an addon for the Boxee Box.
Writing it in XML and Python (both I'm fairly fluent in) - but I kept bumping my head into stupid BOxee Box errors (PushState, animation, visibility, player-state, Back-key etc.) - as some of my more (or less) diplomatic posts may have suggested

Now I started writing the addon in HTML5 instead.

I thought: "Well... I need a client-side app, how would HTML allow me that", but... it rocks!

In ½ a day - without ANY knowledge of HTML5 (my experience dates back to HTML 3.2 ;-) - I have some GUI stuff ready, with nice animations etc.

Now I just need to figure out how to remove all the garbage python test-apps my Boxee insists are still installed on it (which even a factory restore didn't remove).

Does powering off the box and removing the power cord for about 30s help at all? (after you reconnect the power cord and power on again, of course )

Well... so far no... but, I'm not sure my patience has complied with the "30s"...

HTML5 can indeed be very quick depending on what you want with your app, still it has its limitations, but that might be a personal matter

A factory restore and manual firmware install should whipe all, you can also try a new account (thats why I test all on my apps on dev account not my regular one)

Well, the new account trick doesn't work for me.

Apparently the "dead" test-apps are originally from the USB drive, so when I start a new account, it simply get's all the garbage apps in the favorites folder as well :-(

EDIT: Even when I start the BB without a USB stick, or a USB stick without any apps in BoxeeApps.

On removing test apps that came from a USB stick - the only that has worked for me consistently is a factory reset....

indeed best to create a jira file as this bug has been persistent trhough out the boxee releases.
