    Angry Thumbs Down for Boxee

I'm done with Boxee. One more time I had to run across my living-room practically killing myself in the process because Boxee came on full volume and my remote was disabled. Just about blew my fricken speakers.

Also Netflix has never worked for me on Boxee. Useless!

    Boxee now deleted.

    MacBook running Lion.

It's dumb of you to expect software that is still in BETA to not have any bugs in it. My suggestion to you if you are worried about ruining something, DONT USE BETA SOFTWARE.

Perhaps if Boxee (the team) hadn't abandoned Boxee (the software) on computers to go after the set top box market, than we wouldn't be stuck with a no longer updated or seemingly maintained *beta* for computers.

Honestly, the idea that Boxee (the team) wouldn't have updated Boxee (the software) for computers in the past year that the BoxeeBox has been out is more of a reason to leave than the fact that Boxee (the software) is buggy.

There are multiple other HTPC Software Applications out there that are actually maintained.

    ITS FREE!

ok, i guess im quite famous for being a asshole in this forum at this time
but atleast ive paid for the boxee box so i demand that something ive paid for works.

but bitching about free stuff that isnt getting updates is even worse than me

I agree with everyone, including the OP.

We can only expect so much.

But we don't have to put up with it either. I'm currently watching "connecting to the Netflix movie server" endlessly, making no progress, and about to post my terrible support experience else where.

I'll be passing an Apple Store tomorrow and will likely buy an Apple TV. Which I will NOT be installing Boxee on.

You do have to remember that we've been *beta* testing their software for them for the past couple of years, providing feedback etc. Now they've moved to the boxee box and pretty much stopped having anything to do with those of us who've been acting as they're test group so far.

I think there's reasonable justification to be pissed at that.

Hi, just wanted to point out, that (although you probably don't care) we are a VERY small team of developers, that's why we can't do everything (at once), a pc version coming soon (as promised), we are doing our best.

I'm not trying to take away your right to be pissed, just saying...

Hmmm, that would only happen to me ONCE, then I would have the common sense to turn my amp down before starting Boxee. But then again, some people repeat the same sequense of events expecting a different outcome.
