    ::Update::
Seems to have helped the audio not starting to play right away. However, I had an issue reconnecting the box to my SMB shares on a Synology DS411. This is the first time I've had an issue connecting to it even with the SMB changes in the last beta firmware, 1.2.0.20339 (20th August). I couldn't get it to prompt for a password or use the default network SMB password I had in the Network Settings. It would just spin for a second then stop trying to get to the share I wanted to readd. I had to enable the guest account on the Synology for it to connect. It works fine with the guest account enabled. I removed all shares and tried resetting the media library but the only thing that worked for me was to enable the guest account.

Nice! Checking this out now. Been experiencing the "Audio doesn’t play right away" issue with the last beta firmware. Thanks for posting the new beta.

These two issues marked as fixed:

2 channel FLAC always converted to 48 Khz PCM on HDMI interface

All audio formats requiring decoding to PCM before output over HDMI are being down/upsampled to 48khz

Are not fixed. Boxee is still outputting all FLACs and other formats decoded to PCM before output at 48khz over HDMI. Please, please, please get this working right!

Update: Enabling EDID in the Boxee settings now fixes this

Also, SMB performance over wired Ethernet seems to have taken a significant nosedive compared to all previous releases. 1080p movies and 720p movies with DTS-HD soundtracks that used to play fine now buffer every few seconds, making them unwatchable.

Also, SMB performance has degraded to the point that streaming 24/96 FLAC files (both stereo and surround) is impossible. Playback stops and starts a couple of times per second. Again: this worked flawlessly in previous releases.

    Ugh... not a good sign.

I see it's working for other people. It was named boxee_1.2.1.20392.iso when i downloaded it. After i read the instructions agaib it said the iso had to be named boxee.iso which i then changed the name to that and still the same message.

Do you have another USB storage device you can try? Or can you try formatting your current one and then copying the re-downloaded and renamed Boxee.iso to it again?

Can you format your thumb drive and re-copy and name the file over again to see if that solves it.

I just flashed my box 5 mins ago after renaming it (backspacing the numbers) to boxee.iso and it worked fine.

Of course, once I see the menu I then plug my usb device in giving it a couple seconds to load, then choose upgrade from USB, wait a couple of seconds, and then upgrade and then off it goes fine.

    On another note:
I realise the bug fix text never mentioned about buffering or movies freezes or stopping and then buffering/playing, but I can verify that I still have the Movie Freeze/Pause/buffer issue still as I just tested it with another .avi movie.

    Come on people, get installing...

My Boxee is working pretty well at the moment, my only real problems are delayed audio start, mark as watched not working and crashing if left on for a few days at a time. 2 out of 3 of those seem to have been fixed, but am I going to be a guinea pig? No chance

We need some other suckers, sorry I mean dedicated enthusiasts to install and report back...
