You won't have access to move Boxee directly into the root /Applications folder, but you can move it there with ssh and the sudo command. Here is how you can move it.
open terminal (Mac) Windows users will need to download a SSH client
1. login to your ATV by typing "ssh frontrow@appletv.local" (no quotes)
2. enter "frontrow" as password.
3. type sudo mv ~/Applications/Boxee.app /Applications/
step 3 assumes you uploaded the Boxee.app to the /users/frontrow/applications folder. Hope that helps
Im not sure why people cant read simple instructions, but this is the last time I do this. The instructions VERY CLEARLY state that you may or may not run into a permissions issue with the root applications folder. I suspect you have no clue how to issue chmod to update permissions to allow you to have read/write access, hence your comments above. Ignorance is no excuse. The instructions explain how to change permissions via ssh. If you do what you state above, you will run into the same issue unless you change read/write permission as I describe.

Amazing what you can find with google................
In the instructions I posted very simple commands the make the root file system read/write. You can use command line or your sftp app to change permissions for specific folder/file. Work it out yourself........I had to....:->
Because Im too nice.....
