We carried out the promotion for a full week. Sorry you missed it.
Purchased the app to try it on my Samsung Galaxy S with my Boxee Box.
For me, the primary use would be to listen to and control music playback (local and web) without having to have the HDTV on. I ran into a couple of snags, though.
Because the Boxee music library is lacking some features, I've gotten into the habit of creating various .m3u playlists (All Music, Soundtracks, et al.) to work around the shortcomings. What I normally do is browse files to my Music share, select a playlist and once I music starts, I click the Random button and then advance to the next track. With amo, I can browse to my Music share and select a playlist just fine. It says it's "retrieving," but then nothing happens. I can search for or select a single folder fine and initiate playback, which is really cool, but I would really love it if .m3u playlists were supported. Also, when I did play music from a folder, I didn't see the ability to toggle the Random button.
I don't really use Navi-X except for occasionally listening to internet radio streams. I was able to get into a couple of the different movie folders fine and even started playing a movie stream, which was really impressive. However, when I scroll to the bottom of the Navi-X list and select Live Streams, it just kind of hangs loading the playlist. With Navi-X on the Boxee Box, I would normally select Navi-X Networks and the select Music to get to the Internet radio streams. Am I going to the wrong area on the app to get to the Internet radio streams? Is there any way for me to move this to the top of the list so it's easier to get into?
Also, in the app when I click the D-Pad to go back "Home," I notice that there are a few application shortcuts there. Will there be an opportunity to customize these shortcuts down the road? I'm not paying for Netflix streaming or HBO and as I mentioned, I prefer to use this for music. So for me, I would love to see the ability to add shortcuts for the following apps: Soma FM 2, TuneIn Radio, Pandora and Wolfgang's Vault.
Please don't take this post wrong, I think you've put in some really cool work with this app and I appreciate the effort! The navigation in the app is awesome and I'm amazed how well it works. I'm just hoping it can work better for my needs, as I otherwise use a Harmony remote while sitting on the couch watching video on the Boxee Box. Thanks.

Thank you
@kevin Thanks for the support. I will look into the m3u issue you mentioned later on tonight after football. Just curious though, what is it telling you on clicking an m3u? If you don't already have an app for .pls/m3u on your Android you should grab one.
@outback Where are you having an issue, please be specific? Adult site?
It only says "Retrieving:" followed by the path of the .m3u file. That message pops up for 2-3 seconds and then disappears and nothing happens. I'm not sure if my Android can play an .m3u playlist as I don't have any music on my phone. I just got the phone, but don't really plan on using it for music playback. I have an iPod touch for that. I want the .m3u to play on my Boxee Box, not my phone. I want to be able to use amo to control my Boxee Box without having the HDTV on. I'm not looking for audio or video playback on the phone. Sorry if I keep repeating myself, I'm afraid I'm not being clear!
Thanks for taking the time to respond!
We looked into your m3u issue. Here is the wrapup.
Do you have properly named and formatted m3u's? http://forums.boxee.tv/showthread.php?t=34246
You would need to modify them to be Boxee friendly per say and have them in the Extended m3u format first.
IE:
#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:238,Test title1

#EXTINF:199,Test title2
smb://servername/folder/x2.mp3

Touchpad and DPad in harmony for tablets.
Nobody requested this, we just thought we'd add it. If you are on a tablet and want to swap to a dpad, easy, swap again back to touchpad if need be.
