Default amo Boxee Remote Control for ANDROID RELEASED!!!

How do I set it up?

It's automatic; it sets you up. Of course if you want to manually select a Boxee Device, use Settings. Make sure your Boxee is ON and you are local to it via Wireless.

    What does this do?
It does a lot of things. For one, it lets you control Boxee remotely, from an Android phone or tablet device when you can see the screen of Boxee on your TV.

Our big number 2 is that it lets you control Boxee without your TV ON-or without you needing to see the screen to select something to play. Thats right your TV can be off, your Boxee On, and your AVR on and you can play.

The big #3 is that it lets you control Navi-X, a very popular Boxee application - without the need for launching it on Boxee (we have that button as well). You may play select formats locally on Android, and of course, all on Boxee as well - you just don't need the Navi-X app on Boxee to do it anymore.

Our big #4 is if you are playing something on Boxee, we aim to provide the metadata for that; then via this. Right now anything scraped by Boxee shows up just fine.

You may now purchase this app in the Android market for a limited time @ $3.99 USD https://market.android.com/details?i...=search_result

We have discounted the price on the app for a limited time for people on the forum and first adopters. If you had this application before and have not seen this version, at the very least we encourage you to spend 15 minutes with this one.

It has been announced here first. We encourage you all to speak your mind here and tell your friends on twitter using hashtag #amoboxee, or im, etc.

Thank you all for reading and your interest.

Any press inquiries can be directed to press@amo.net.

You may select files from ANY source boxee has in sources. Think Files menu.

EDIT: When you select an item from Navi-X now, you will have the option of where you want it to play, IE: Boxee or Android. For avi's, mkv's, etc you will need a player like rockplayer lite from the market as well. If your phone or tablet does not support that format, you will be notified and a quick trip to the market should rectify that.

The titles are not in alphabetical order, however our built in Searching is via the HDD button. This is a limitation on Boxee and you cannot filter by recent, or any other means via RPC nor is this in the spec, or are you referring to something else?

When browsing local sources the files appear to be listed randomly. I would prefer that they show in alphqbetical order

noted...I will look into this, I think it's a limitation on Boxee but we can always bypass that if need be. How do you like the search function in there?
