    Default TV Series DVD's

How do I setup TV Series DVD's to work in boxee?

I tried the XBMC approved naming scheme of:

How does one get boxee to supportTV series DVD with more than one episode per file.

    TRUE_BLOOD_S1_E01-02.iso

and also have NFO's created from ember but Boxee doesn't seem to handle multiple episodes per XML.

Whats the best way to set this up assuming the multilple episode iso's are not going to get to split into individual episodes?

    I had same problem
Boxee naming scheme does not appear to work when multiple episodes are
in one ISO / DVD image simply because if you choose a specific episode, it does not know how to open the ISO first, search for the episode in question, and play it.

Get yourself a copy of MAKEMKV and it will extract each episode into individual files that y ou can name based on their season#/episode#

its fast and much easier to work with, than an iso

No I have no interest in doing this and will not re-rip TV Shows with MakeMKV. I ripped movies all the time with MakeMKV.

It works great in XBMC and PCH/YAMJ.

no one is expecting the player to know how to play the episode via the discs menu but it should maintain metadata/watched status and be able to play the ISO just as you can do in XBMC or on my Popcorn hour.

Or just play the ISO and select the title from the DVD menu. For the handful of DVD ISOs I have, this works fine for me. I just select the episode from the DVD menu, just like you would in a DVD player.

i just provided an alternate method to get it to work

as far as naming, have you tried True.Blood.S01.E01-02.iso ?
not sure how well, boxee handles _ underscores

As far as it working in XBMC and not boxee, these are the sorts of things that seperate different mediaplayers.
Little things that are different between them ( good or bad )

if all mediaplayers were identical in how they work, there would be no need to have different ones on the market (since they would all do the same thing ) if you know what I mean.
makemkv seperate episodes on disk into individual files and does it fast
and much nicer to organize ( imo )

perhaps someone who's had better luck with TV Season dvd's can chime in with how they've done it

Agreed. I just want the metadata.

Thanks no issues with the _'s it seems just fails to fully impliment the XBMC standard which they copied. hopefully its just a bug. I will check JIRA.

I've have lots of existing data in this form and all the right local meta data for my other players which use the XBMC NFO standards. For the most part it works well. Scraping movies on boxee is now a breeze where before it was a chore.

BTW: There is at least a JIRA ticket open against this.

    http://jira.boxee.tv/browse/BOXEE-7788

Evidently according to a poster at AVS. This used to be documented when the released support and they tried using it and it didn't work and then it was removed from the docs. (probably a cut and paste error from the XBMC docs).

It doesn't look like boxee supports the sets concept either?
