Default Operating failed, error code 0x315

    Hi,

I was using firmware 1.1.3.19252 until today
    (http://forums.boxee.tv/showthread.php?t=37901)

Started getting "upgrading" msgs that failed, so decided to manually upgrade.

I reset the box, restored factory settings (original firmware) and am now trying to upgrade to 1.2.020339 from a USB stick.

The process runs until 100% and then I get:
    Operation failed, error code 0x315.

Searched the forums but can't find an explanation or guide what to do.

How can I resolve this and upgrade?

    Thanks
    Moti

Unfortunately, I believe this indicates a hardware failure of some sort and you'll need to contact D-Link to RMA the unit.

This info comes via http://support.boxee.tv/entries/362792-error-code-0x315 and a Boxee employee (Kosta) stated:

    Hi,

You will need to RMA the box, in order to start the RMA procedure please contact dlink.com or your local reseller. The error codes indicate and issue with the hardware.

    Thanks for the quick response.

I've given it an additional go, tried factory resetting, then restoring to old firmware, then did the same process again, and then upgrading from USB worked fine!

I'm using the new firmware now.

Does it still mean there's some HW problem and I need to RMA the unit?

this could have been an issue with the boxee.iso or the usb thumb drive ..if it is working fine now you should be good to go

    Ok, thanks marcel.

It is worth noting that if this error occurs, it's advisable to retry few times, until it works.

I wanted to thank Moti_r as our boxee had the same issue, updating from the boxee got an error 0x320 and upgrading from usb went to 100% then gave the error code 0x315.

I followed what Moti_r did, I reset the boxee, I cleared the settings then upgraded from USB (without trying to upgrade from the box itself) and it worked. Boxee was back to normal.

This lasted 2 days, I added in all my settings and shares and left boxee to search through all my files.

I left the TV off and boxee went to its screen off mode (as it does when it's left onfor awhile), I tried to revive it by pressing the remote buttons but it hung.

Now it's back to flashing red three times then green one time. but it WONT let me reset (holding the power button for more than 5 seconds but less than 8 seconds), tried at least 20 times. Have also tried unplugging boxee for awhile then resetting. Any ideas?
