    Default Need help with episode NFO!!!

    Hi all,

    I recently bought a Boxee Box and I'm now updating my TV show collection by adding NFOs for TV shows/episodes the Boxee Box didn't identify (correctly).

    Currently I'm having problems with an episode of 'Star Trek: The Original Series' because the Boxee Box doesn't recognize the NFO

    This is the situation:

    \\Drobo-FS\Video\Series\Star Trek - The Original Series\Season 1\Star Trek TOS - 1x00 - The Cage.avi
    \\Drobo-FS\Video\Series\Star Trek - The Original Series\Season 1\Star Trek TOS - 1x00 - The Cage.nfo

    The NFO for this episode looks like this:

    <episodedetails>
    <title>The Cage</title>
    <season>1</season>
    <episode>0</episode>
    <plot>The Enterprise is lured to a planet by a repeating distress call. Capt. Pike and the crew find the aged survivors of a crashed spaceship. However, the crash and the survivors turn out to be illusions created by an advanced race of beings, with mysterious motives. They capture Capt. Pike and watch as they put him through false imagined adventures. But, the same woman keeps appearing in all these adventures with him. Can Capt. Pike learn what the beings’ motives are, and can the Enterprise crew rescue their captain in time?</plot>
    <runtime>64 min</runtime>
    </episodedetails>

    What am I doing wrong? Any help would be much appreciated because this is driving me crazy!!!

    Thanks in advance!

    EDIT: I'm a Mac user!

    check this thread - http://forums.boxee.tv/showthread.php?t=33055 use Ember Media Manager to generate nfo's for both the show (tvshow.nfo) and each episode automatically - works a treat for me

    if you don't want to do this just make sure you've got a tvshow.nfo as well otherwise I don't think it resolves the file

    Thanks azzad10, but I forgot to say that I'm using a Mac, so unfortunately I can't use Ember Media Manager

    how about renaming the file:

    Star Trek TOS - 1x00 - The Cage.avi

    to

    Star.Trek.S01E00.The.Cage.avi

    So, if you browse to the file via Files>>Browse>>Network, select the file, and select the identify icon, you don't get "NFO" as a choice?

    Thank you very much azzad10!!! Placing a tvshow.nfo in the root folder did the trick... Now it does recognize the episode NFO :-D

    I do get that choice, but then it says that I need to resolve it manually... But thanks to azzad10's advice it now works! I didn't place a tvshow.nfo in the root folder of the TV show what caused the problem with the episode NFO... Problem = Solved!
