    Hi,

i bought my BB a week ago and so far I am very happy with the box. I have read the forums the last days a lot and of course this thread. I am using firmware 19250.
If I understand it right, the new firmware is causing smb troubles for some. New added episodes of a TV Show will cause dublicate Covers. If this would happen to my BB how can i downgrade? I didn't found an archive of old firmwares.
Beside that, does the BB parse nfo Files with "/" in genres? Or is still the "," needed? I startet to write a small Java Desktop App to batch fix my nfo files ...

Sorry for my "broken" english but i am not a native speaker.

I can't get Asset UPnP to even show up on my Boxee Box... (or the one from Windows/WHS either).

I don't recall seeing a bug for slow browsing but SMB browsing is supper slow for folders with a good amount of files in it too.

How Can UPNP AND SMB be of such varying degrees of shit between releases?

Why would it improve and then worsen between RCs?

The code base must be a -complete- mess.

HERE's A SUGGESTION - STOP F*CKING ABOUT WITH CRAPPY NEW 'FEATURES' OTHER SUCH NONSENSE and let the 1.3 release be JUST ABOUT FIXING NETWORKING AND PLAYBACK ISSUES so people can actually USE the box to WATCH FRICKING VIDEOS.

Wow, did somebody pee in your Wheaties or what?

If you can't be constructive, perhaps it's time to take a break from the forums

In any case, all the file sharing / networking stuff was written for v1.2 so there are bound to be some kinks to work out. By all reports so far, however, most of the file sharing stuff improved from the last RC to the final release...

And for the record, I LOVE AIRPLAY, not a "CRAPPY" new feature but a GREAT one.

(Oh, and let's not forget, AFP, new for v1.2, is pretty much required for all the OS X Lion users)

So far I've selected shut down three times, and it has taken a lot longer to shut down every time.

I find that it's best to go to the home screen before you shut down. Every couple times I try to shut down while in the Files menu or on the Movies or TV Shows screens, the box would freeze or in the case of this most recent release restart. Hope that helps. Also, I think I figured out setting up shares in Hanewin. I have my shared folders named as such: !MOVIES2, !TV SHOWS, etc. I don't think Hanewin likes spaces or special characters in the shared folder name as when I changed one folder to MOVIES and added it, it worked. I will be testing out NFS on this new release when I get home tonight.

I discovered my issues with lion were that my imacs wifi would drop out while running it. I found a script online that simply has the lion machine ping my router every 5 seconds or so and it seems to be working until apple releases a fix.

I agree. New features are not of interest when the firmware is so bad. (I'm going to test 1.2.0.20310 now, fingers crossed)

i know, it was reported at least as early as april. but they have higher priorities than fixing the most popular audio format
