Screen Sharing on Lion Crashes Boxee

The new Screen Sharing functionality in Lion allows two users to login to the same Mac (one locally and one remotely) and see different desktops.

I have a Mac Mini connected straight to my TV and run Boxee on it. With the new screen sharing, I can remotely log in to the Mac Mini and administer it with full control (using one user account) while Boxee continues to display in all its glory on the TV in the local user account.

However, when I try this, Boxee freezes. Boxee is running on local user account called "Boxee", but when I remote in from my laptop using a different account, that works fine but the Boxee app freezes and stops responding.

If I quit out of the remote sharing and fiddle around for a bit on the Mac, Boxee seems to come back to life.

Further investigation is required on this and I just wonder if anyone else could give this a try and see if they have the same problem?

I'm having the exact same problem with my Mac Mini setup. Got really excited with the multiple user feature of Mac OS X Lion, but it seems to freeze Boxee when you login to another user via screen sharing. As above, my Boxee session seems to come back to life once you log out of the screen sharing session on the remote computer.

I can not connect via Screen Sharing to my Mac Mini Lion 10.7 Server if Boxee is running when the mini goes into sleep mode.

I am not logging in as a separate user either. Boxee is the only app that is running constantly so I dont know if this is happening with other applications.

This happens whether I am Screen Sharing inside my network or from the outside.

I've also noticed this symptom when using screen sharing - I find that leaving and regaining focus (Cmd+Tab x2) will un-freeze Boxee for about ~5 seconds - then it goes back to hung again unless you repeat the focus-switch... Other than that, I have to not use screen sharing on my Mini right now because of this

You're right... but this is unhelpful when you're trying to run Boxee on a Mac Mini only being controlled by an Apple Remote.

I agree I still hold up some hope for a permanent solution - but I suspect we'll be waiting till the next version release (December?) and see if it exists in that...

I hope they build it and make the production model really close to that concept. As well mmastream.cc, I hope they bring it to Canada well equipped and with a powerful engine. I would consider it.

It's been done already. Do a search for it. I cant remember where I saw it but I will look for it mmastream.cc, if someone doesnt post a picture before I do.
