I'm still debating if I should drop the instant watch and keep the 2 DVD out-at-a-time or just completely drop it.

I've just dropped the DVDs and am keeping the streaming. I'll either buy the damn discs or rent from HDX quality from VUDU...

I think many many many will drop the DVD portion and move to redbox or vudu, itunes, amazon. This move of Netflix would have been great if their streaming library was up to par. But sadly its not . Netflix wasn't a complete solution without DVD + Streaming combo. Check out the 27000 facebook posts on netflixs page about this. They are very very pissed (and very vocal)
Here's some of the gorey details... http://www.businessinsider.com/netfl...This%20Morning
I'm on the other side of the coin. There's presently no internet here except via satellite, which means we're limited to a 200 megabyte per day download. Forget streaming under these conditions.
I was really annoyed when Netflix put streaming in the package, and upped my price. Lowering it again, and leaving me with only DVDs is a much better match to my needs. If I did anything, I'd probably write them a letter thanking them.
I suppose it just goes to show how much we are all individuals, with differing needs.
I'll drop the streaming and DVD's just before September. The streaming catalog is weak and can be nearly supplemented elsewhere and I'll drop the DVD's for spite and look into Redbox. Been with Netflix since 2006... screw them.
Keeping streaming... bye bye to DVD plan.
I had the streaming + 2 Blu Ray plan at $17. It's now going to be $22 and change. I rarely watch more than 3 Blu Ray a month anyways and was considering dropping it. Netflix made up my mind for me.
I have 3 Redboxes within 2 miles including where I do all my shopping. I can use Vudu or Dish Network for any others.
Count me in for dropping the DVD (Blu-ray) portion of the plan. The streaming catalog is weak, but there are a lot of TV shows available in HD. With a new baby at home, I watch maybe one or 2 Blu-rays a month. Not work the additional 8 bucks or whatever it is. I watch movies in Navi-X more anyways![]()
Hadn't realized that Redbox includes bluray discs so I've updated my Netflix account already (streaming only) and will rent the occasional bluray locally; I'll save myself tons of money as I wasn't watching many of the dvds anyhow.
Now, I just need a different (non-Netflix) app to come up with my own movie rental queue![]()
