Default Netflix search clarification (for an article)

Hey guys, as a followup to a previous article I wrote about content, I'm doing a piece on Netflix opening up a bit more.

One of the specific things that irks me is the lack of integration of Netflix results into the main Boxee interface. I have heard Darcilicious make mention that this used to not be the case until Netflix specifically requested the Boxee team remove this functionality. Do we have a source on this I can cite? I just want to make sure I have my ducks in a row before I start making any accusations.

    Thanks!

You'll want to get confirmation from Netflix directly, naturally.

I believe this is the first post that mentions this issue: http://forums.boxee.tv/showthread.php?p=75767#post75767

Interesting, I had totally forgotten that during the invite-beta phase, TV shows from Netflix were integrated as well as Movies.

Edit: Ah, I thought this was the case, shortly after the release, the Movies Library was removed completely and returned a few weeks (or months?) later.

Edit: Criminy, it was August before the Movies Library returned... but when it did, it had a number of sources.

So there's the history, more or less. Good luck in getting anything directly out of Netflix. I suppose you could try asking Marcel but he may not be able to comment publicly about any agreement details Boxee has with Netflix.

Thanks, that helps get me started. I doubt Netflix will give me a straight answer either way--but we'll see where that lands me.
