    Default Audio/Video Sync Problem

Since the last update (and not before this update), I seem to be having an Audio/Video sync problem.

    Here's how the problem goes:

Press Pause, when the audio or video resumes, the audio is out of snyc. Press pause again, wait a second, press it again and everything returns back to normal. This seems to happen more with mkv's, but also happens with avi's.

Also, when watching an avi, after about half an hour of play time, the sync issue happens without any warning, change, or input from the remote. Again, press pause, then press it again to return, the problem seems to go away.

Its not a huge issue, but it is VERY annoying when watching longer files. I haven't changed any settings or anything else in my entire set-up or network other than the new firmware update.

    Anything I should try changing?

Default D-Link unaware of major issues and bug in Boxee Software

    Hello all,

I just thought I would let you know about a call I have had today with D-Link relating to Boxee Box. Please fully read this post before jumping on me and beating me up;-) I have not really been an active poster in here, just lurking. But now I have taken action....!

As a user base, we all have our thoughts, comments, issues and general grumbles about Boxee Box and the Boxee Software. So after not getting very far very fast I sent a couple of emails to very senior people within D-Link Taiwan and had some interesting help come my way from the guys in London when I then called them.

The issues I have *personally* were brought up first, then I went into the Synching and Audio Drop-outs as well as WiFi and Spotify (or lack of).

What Im about to say next will not please you - but these are my suggested next steps for you as individuals:

1 - Call D-Link on 0208 955 9000. When the IVR answers dial extension 8074 and ask for Sam. If he is not available use extension 8079 and this will get you through to Tariq.
2 - Be gentle with these guys, they know the product but are NOT fully aware how bad things are...! We are all posting here in this Boxee forum, but D-Link do not monitor it (remember D-link manufacture the product and put the Boxee Software on it). You will need to give them details of your SPECIFIC issue and get a fault logged with them. They will give you an email address to send details of any emails and JIRA ticket numbers you may have.

I know you will be asking WHY should you do this and take more time out of your schedule to talk to them. The reason is simple, the manufacturer is not aware how many of us are upset and annoyed at the product. When I told them I have cancelled an order of 200 units for business use, they took notice. As D-Link are the hardware manufacturer / integrator they have to PAY Boxee for their software. As customers our contracts are with the company we purchased Boxee Box from and in turn with D-Link as the Manufacturer.

Just out of curiosity, what hardware revision are you guys running? You can find this on the label under boxee on the P/N line, right at the end A2e is mine, I believe this is revision 2. There is an A3 as well.

    I will keep you posted!

    B
