Thread: Odd: Cannot change resolution in ATV 2.3

Angry Odd: Cannot change resolution in ATV 2.3

As background, I just did a factory restore to 1.0, upgraded to 2.3, installed Boxee/NitoTV - everything works great.

    EXCEPT for this:

I'm set at 720p. Whenever I try to change to 1080p, I hear what sounds like two clicks and the screen freezes. I continue to hear the remote when I attempt to use it but still the screen is frozen. Only recourse is to cold reboot the ATV and resolution is still set at 720p.

BTW - I have a 1080p-capable TV and ATV is hooked to it via HDMI.

Any help would be greatly appreciated - even if not, thanks so much to all 3rd party ATV-related developers!

exit Boxee, choice settings > Audio & Video > TV Resolution
    And select 1080p HD.

    It worked for me...

I wasn't clear - I was attempting to do so in the ATV settings, not in Boxee settings. Thanks for your reply anyway.

I get the same thing actually. I was attempting to change the resolution from 1080 P to 720 to test settings and it just freezes on me and I have to reboot the Atv.
    Not sure what to do.

    Default same here

I also have this issue, plus the ATV interface is stretched off screen, so I can only see half of the screen. Also, the normal AppleTV startup animation and sounds no longer plays when reboot, so I'm not sure if these three things are connected, but it all started recently. Maybe since the most recent Boxee update. Thoughts anyone? Thanks.

Or it could be that I recently installed the new 2.2 launcher app...maybe that's it. I'm going to try to uninstall the 2.2 launcher and see if that fixes it.

    Default nope...

I uninstalled the launcher 2.2 application and this weird bug still persists. Anyone else?

Default Also unable to change out of 720p after ATV2.3

I haven't uninstalled boxee, but I've rebooted 3 times and each time (even if Boxee was never run), when I select something other than 720p, the screen freezes but audio and menu sounds seem to continue to occur.

I was able to change resolutions in ATV2.2 earlier today, so think its a bug in 2.3. Seems serious, though.

I ran into this as well with launcher 2.2 the only way I could change the res was to do a factory restore set everything including the res updated to ATV2.3 and was able to change res. Then ran the patch stick and then installed Boxee. Was seeing if the res had any affect on hulu playback when I noticed I couldn't go from 1080 to 720. Once launcher 2.2 was installed I was no longer able to change res.
