Thread: How/Where to get content?

  1. #1

    Default How/Where to get content?

During the current off-season time, i'm finding it more difficult to find content I can rely on. I use NAVI-X alot, but sometimes its a pain to look for things and I'm just as happy to load local content.

I live in Canada so for the time being, downloading via BitTorrent is not technically illegal yet, but I would rather protect myself. Should I be looking at using a VPN/Hulu, CyberLockers, usenet, etc.?

    I agree with darci: usenet.

I have a Synology DS411+ NAS which runs Flexget and nzbget to automatically download the shows I am interested in to a share that my BoxeeBox auto-scans hourly. This works very well for me and is very spouse & child friendly.

So you're paying for a Usenet account?

I'm torn as to whether I should pay for a VPN and use Netflix (Hulu someday) or just stick with the old fashioned GET (torrent/USEnet) way of doing things. I really don't feel like paying for both options.

If I understand the way this works, I go to NZBMatrix and do a search, when I find what I want, I hit Download? and then something like sabnzbd+ would take over and download it (the way a torrent Client would dl from say Pirate Bay)?

Is the dl from NZBMatrix less likely to be looked at that a Torrent (from the ISP) ?

It's typically not downloading the .torrent file, or even downloading (media) files via torrents that gets folks in trouble. It's sharing/uploading which most folks do with p2p (torrent) clients.

With NZBs and Usenet, you're never "sharing" or uploading content.

Thanx, then has anyone tried NZBMatrix.com, its only 11$ for a lifetime (10yrs) account...

Umm, I seem to be missing something, from what I can tell, I have to pay for NZBMatrix, but then I still need to pay for a usenet Server?

If someone would be so kind as to help me out with specifics, pls feel free to PM me!

    Thx!

    And yes, I,m a n00b :-)
