    Default Multiple Boxee Boxes

I had a 1st Apple TV that had be hacked to run Boxee for the last year or so and the Apple TV finally gave out, so I thought this would be a good time to consider to handle media in the house.

Right now I just have my stored movies and tv shows on a networked drive that Boxee was monitoring via the network. Of course there was only one Boxee unit in the whole house, but now I'm being asked about having a second Boxee unit in another room.

The plan was to buy a Mac Mini to replace the Apple TV but I'm not like the idea of that cost, more so if I have to buy more then one Mini.

Would it be possible to get 2 Boxee Box and have them share the same media drive via the network? Luckily I have Cat-5 ran to the two rooms in question so I wouldn't have to mess with any of them being wireless and trying to stream media wireless.

Ridiculously silly question to end... is the Boxee Box interface the same as the installable Boxee app? Basically if I changed to Boxee Boxes would have to be "retrain" anyone on how to use them, this is mainly about the TV show and movie interface and watching.

    Yes.

No, visually they're fairly different. The Shows and Movies screens have improved sorting features and there's a lot more "filtering" up front (e.g. genres, channels).

It will take some getting used to be it's not any harder to use (some might argue it's simpler...)

Can Boxee Box be controlled by a Logitech Harmony?

If you set up the Harmony (I'm assuming it's an IR one) as an MCE remote and purchase a compatible IR receiver/dongle (I highly recommend the Mantra-1 from twistedmelon.com) then yes.

I have two boxes in my house, one in the lounge and one in the bedroom. Both run off a Synology NAS, one wired and one wireless. Both are excellent and I have no problems with them. Go for it.
