    that's should be the same as "Philips Media Center Remote"... should work fine. (it uses the same drivers/ir codes)

    actually, all of these remotes should work:

    personal: boxee | twitter | boxee hq
    boxee: boxee chat | boxee wiki | boxee plugins

    i run boxee 0.9.20 on: ubuntu 9.10, windows xp sp3 (virtual machine), windows 7 and a neuros link hacked to all hell.

    what super powers does a 'super mod' have? the 'super ban'... that, and laser vision.

    For those that have already got their remote working in Windows, but aren't having any luck with Boxee, there is an alternative to EventGhost.

    Download intelliremote :http://melloware.com/products/intelliremote/

    Select the XBMC profile.

    Use your remote

    I am sure there will be a Boxee specific profile coming along soon just for Intelliremote as well.

    That looks like a great piece of software.. Although their site suggests you have to pay for it?

    Red face Harmony?

    iBeech - you are the best!
    But how do I get this working with my Harmony 880?

    I have an XP machine with Boxee and a Hauppauge PVR-150 with IR Receiver that I've been using with SageTV forever, but I'm dying to switch over to Boxee.

    I tried setting up a device in my Harmony setup as Windows Media Center PC and had no luck - same with the MCE-500.

    Boxee is so sweet!!

    Try an iphone or ipod touch and the xmote or xbmc remote apps.

    surprising results.

    Will this alternative method work in Vista 32? If not will the original method in this thread work?

    EDIT: Just answered my own question with a bit or reading. For anyone wondering, the mediaportal replacement driver has been updated for vista.

    I've just tried the instructions in this thread for Vista x86. I'm using a standard mce remote.

    The replacement driver installed fine, but Eventghost isn't happy. I opened the xml file from this thread and it had the following errors in the log immediately:

    Can't read __init__.py for plugin "XBMC"
    Error loading plugin: "XBMC"
    Can't find action: XBMC.Pause()
    Can't find action: XBMC.Up()
    Can't find action: XBMC.Down()
    Plugin: Microsoft MCE Remote
    Error starting plugin: Microsoft MCE Remote
    etc...

    I tried installing the XBMC plugin from here and it wouldn't let me. I got it to come up in the 'add plugin' list, but when I select it the ok button is greyed out.

    I have eventghost 0.3.5c build 908. Can anyone help get my remote working?

    OK I feel like a big ole dope.

    XBMC Remote for the Iphone for the win. Key feature is turn the phone upside-down and it switches from menu on the phone to a button remote. It is the most awesome thing I have ever been so stupid to miss. OMG. And you can customize the buttons in real Iphone style. CRAZY.

    Is Hulu fixed yet? How about Netflix on windows? When do they push out updates to the Boxee program?

    Get this remote you silly people. I can remote over the internet and play my Boxee back to the internet over my Slingbox. I'm just bit too connected.

    • Xbox 360 Media Centre Remote
    • Standard Media Centre (2005) Remote
    • Sky+ HD Remote
    • Standard Sky Remote

    I was able to use my Hauppauge remote in EventGhost using the same script...just deleted the MCE remote from the startup section then added the HauppaugeIR. You then just need to press each button and drag the button presses from the log into the proper macro command. I could have modified the irremote.ini file but I use eventghost for things other than Boxee.
    macro command.
