Default Remotes supported by boxee box?

I really think there needs to be a sticky for this topic. IR receivers, RF remotes, and Harmony info would be nice. In particular I want to know if the Harmony 900 works without a receiver or any other dongle? Tried searching the forum but "RF" is too short for the search terms...

Can we gather all the known information into one super thread? Instead of having to trawl the forums and finding half the info outdated or incorrect

    Wait, are you volunteering?

I'm not familiar with the Harmony 900 but maybe that's the thing to search on instead of RF?

I can tell you that I have a Rii RF remote, and the Boxee Box requires a dongle for it.

As far as IR receivers go, I only personally recommend the Mantra from twistedmelon.com as I've used it in a number of setups (including on a Boxee Box, and again, a dongle is required) and it "just works".

On a whim I bought this remote from Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/Wireless-USB-R...0675149&sr=8-1It is a generic remote, but there are keys on it that work just as the core BB remote buttons (paly/pauce, directional, enter, menu/back). The backspace button works, and the keys used for numbers and letters work as long as you hit the number lock key to enable them. There is a weird way to get out of number lock. You have to hit the button 3 more times. I learned through trial and error.

As a PS3 owner, I was looking for an all in one remote to work my TV, receiver, Boxee Box, and PS3. This remote: http://www.amazon.com/PS3-Blu-Link-U...0675020&sr=8-4works for the PS3 (bluetooth) and is a learning remote with IR capability. So, I had it learn the functions from he generic remote, and now I have a remote that works all of my components since existing codes for my TV and reciever work just fine.
The only issue, as many have pointed out in other threads, is that if you shut down the BB with a universal remote, you cannot turn it back on since the USB port is now closed. You would have to put it to sleep. I personally do not mind having to turn it on manually in the morning after shutting it down when I go to bed. Small price to pay for the convenience of one remote for all
