Default Cannot get TV show recognized

This is on an AppleTV 2.3 with boxee 0.9.6.4578

I have 3 sources setup to 3 different folders on a smb share, Adult Movies, Kid Movies, and TV Shows.

For the tv show source, I have 4 different series in there, with multiple episodes each, all named Show.Title.S0NE0N.avi

For 3 of the 4 series, they get recognized automatically, and show up in Video->TV Shows. However, the 4th does not get recognized, and does NOT show up in TV Shows, not does it show up in Video->Movies, so the only way to get to it is to browse to the source manually. I would expect TV shows to work like movies, and still show up with an extracted thumbnail and without metadata.

I tried selecting the first episode by going Video->Browse->TV Show Src->first episode->Recognize->TV Show->Title,01,01, but it didn't seem to store what I typed in (annoying after typing on an apple remote). If the imdb lookup fails, are TV shows just not included?

Of course, this happens on the one series I'm trying to setup for wife to have easy daily access to :P The filenames of the missing tv series are:

    Yoga.Zone.S01E01.avi
    Yoga.Zone.S01E02.avi
    Yoga.Zone.S01E03.avi
    Yoga.Zone.S01E04.avi
    Yoga.Zone.S01E05.avi

The TV show which is not being added. What's it called?

If it's got special chars in it, there is currently a known bug which prevents it from being added. e.g. 'The X-Files' or 'The O.C.'

Further to this, if your show does not exist on www.thetvdb.com, then it will not be added.

If your TV show has a year in the title e.g. 'Battlestar Galactica (2003)' it will be incorrectly added at this time.

The name of the show is "Yoga Zone". It does not exist in thetvdb. I guess I could add it since it is an open db.

This seems like a pretty bad usability bug to me - the user has no idea why their tv show isn't showing up anywhere! boxee should add the unrecognized tv show without metadata like it does for unrecognized movies.

9/10 it's pretty unlikley the show you are adding does not exist in TheTVDB.com - However, you can always hit Videos->Browse and browse to your video manually.

As you said, you can add it to thetvdb.com

Perhaps we should offer a report after a complete scan? The report could make suggestions if a TV show could not be found? Like 'Goto www.thetvdb.com and enter show details'.

I've got you started with a new show, some info, a banner and some fan art.... enjoy

    Hehe, cool, thanks.
I was unsure if I should add it since thetvdb specifies "No sports"

I still think it would be nice if boxee handled the case when something wasn't in thetvdb so that one could group shows that were episodic in nature, but for some reason wouldn't belong on thetvdb.

I would class it as fitness. Sport would be football
