Default Do All BB's Suffer the Pandora Activation Problem?

I picked up a BB from a local store a few weeks ago. Since it was primarily going to feed music and news to my garage workshop, I thought it would be a great solution.

Liking to use Pandora, I was frustrated to find that I had to re-activate the account on my BB every time I started it up.

I posted a thread on this topic, was linked to a bug/service thread, which seemed to indicate the problem was somewhat random. I also followed the advice for a factory reset, manual upgrade, etc. - all to no avail.

So I returned that box and ordered another from a completely different source, thinking that I might get one that didn't experience this problem. It seems that some may not.

It arrived yesterday - and it has the same activation problem.

So, I'm left wondering a few things...

-- Does every BB have this problem, but some just don't know it because they don't use the Pandora app?

-- If D-Link has known about this (apparently since last fall), why isn't it fixed yet? If I look at the timing of this bug being reported, there's been two upgrades since. Can or will this ever be fixed?

-- Is there anything else to try?

This just seems like such a simple - but annoying - problem. Why does it still exist?

    No.

Boxee develops and maintains the software; there have been several updates since the issue was first reported and it does seem to be happening to less users over time.

Did you try creating a new Boxee user account?

Because it's not a simple problem to fix? Because other bugs are a higher priority? Not sure. BTW, have you registered at http://jira.boxee.tv and voted for the bug to be fixed?

    Thanks for the reply darcilicious

I've spent a few hours now trying all the suggested remedies; new user accounts, resets, etc. Nothing seems to affect any change in my BB's behavior regarding Pandora activation.

    Sigh......

I've always had this problem too but never saw the jira ticket. I'll have to see if any of the suggestions work.

I guess I need to open up PAndora. I haven't used it since the last firmware update. I know previously I did not have any issues.

    Thanks for the suggestion.

I've already submitted a support request. I received an email back telling me that the problem is known, and I was referred to the jira thread. Beyond that, they offered no other ideas.

Sorry to hear you are having problems... besides a few issues earlier mine is working fine. Listened to it all afternoon yesterday.

Just tried it and it is working right now.

I have had the issue since day one. Followed the jira tracker and watched it stopped getting updated. Figure since there was only a handful of people that "reported" the issue that it would slide to nothingness. I personally just gave up on the issue and figured it was just something that will never work until more people start complaining enough to get someone to look into it.
