Exclamation Removable media location - help

    Hi,
Bought my Box yesterday and I must say I really like it!

I have a problem though. I'm using many External USB HDs and I've scanned them all (one by one) with the box. The problem is that Movies (on drives currently not connected) shows up like /tmp/mnt/"really long id" when I try to play them... is this a bug? Why can't it just say "HDD#1\My movie.mkv" but instead of "HDD#1" it says /tmp/mnt/"really long id".

Not that easy to find the correct drive...

    Help? Suggestions?
(I know I can browse by "Movie-File-Media".. not good enough)

Oh, forgot to mention that I did a "auto update" yesterday so I believe I have the latest version

This is the ID of the USB. I'm not sure if it normally does that or you have a funny. I will need to check some of my movies on USB drives when I get home. It would certainly be nice if it used your entered source name followed by the path relevant to that.... if it doesn't already.

You could try a remove and add of the source along with a database clear... but you might want to wait until someone can confirm its not meant to work like that.

    Default Tried the link

Thank you for the link. It did offer some hints. I've added (scanned) 4 external drives and the path is incorrect for all. But when i have one drive connected those movies display correct path... not connected = wrong path (tmp/mnt/..)

I do believe it is some sort of bug (don't know how to report this)

You can enter an issue on jira, you will have to register on there first. Create a detailed description of the problem and maybe attach a debug log ... or send it to them and make a note of the log on the issue. Let us know the issue number so we can vote on it.

I will check when I get home what mine looks like. Thanks for the info about the drive having to be disconnected for it to show wrong.

On the bright side, its a lot better now as boxee never used to display my movies on drives that weren't connected/turned on. Now its great because you don't have to have everything connected/turned on to browse your library.

If this can be corrected then it will be great.

UPDATE: Just to confirm mine does the same... the name of the USB HDD is only displayed when its connected otherwise its the long number id.

    Default Found another little thing

I've found that when you browse movies by "Movies -> Files-> Sources" not ALL films are listed! Even though they ARE identified!

The good thing is I figured out why..

I've you have multiple copies of the same movies, let's say LOTR - The Two Towers and LOTR - The Two Towers EXTENDED version. *This movie will only list under the first Source it was identified on*..

If i browse all movies, they will of course list and I can see that I have 2 versions of LOTR when i select the movie... when I list Source 1 - OK, when I list Source 2 (2nd version) - No movie...

This is not good! I only connect one external HDD at a time and usually list by source. Boxee can't show me what's on the HDD unless i browse by File

I've noticed your second issue too... the movie should appear under both sources but it does not.
