Seriously... I've waited 3 years now. Scraping is great when it works, but what about when it doesn't (which is actually quite often).
Example 1: Doctor Who
Between seasons 4 and 5, there were 5 specials (not counting a couple 3
minute blips). As far as I'm concerned, these are episodes 14-18 of season
4 (and wikipedia agrees). IMDB puts these under "unknown".
Example 2: April Fools Day (1986)
Shows up as E.T. which is a bit odd... sure with some work, I can get it to
grab the right info... I guess I'm just mentioning this as support that the
scrape is crap sometimes...
Example 3: Home Video
I'm not talking about stuff I record, I mean when a band releases one
of those tour videos or promos... had several problems with these...
Example 4: Remakes (like Halloween or Pulse)
I can't just add the date to the title?
Example 5: many, MANY films with bad cover art
Constantly annoyed by this... no simple fix.
For all of these scenarios, I should just have another option under "wrong video" to enter the info manually. It just baffles me how we've gone this long without it. There are other reasons to want this also... what about things that are just NOT in IMDB at all? Or if it just won't work no matter how hard you try. Simple, manual override. For all fields and images. Think "Get Info" in iTunes - something along those lines. Is there a reason we don't have a user friendly solution for this?
