Some network shows not available in boxee, and have no poster, inf, etc.

I just recently added two new shows to boxee, and they both barely get any data from IMDb. Teen Wolf, and Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution are the two newest shows I've added. Lousy plot description, no TV Poster, etc. And looking through my library, shows like Lights Out, Married With Children, and Heroes have bad metadata also (these shows should have at least posters!) Also, many new TV episodes have no plot, thumb, etc. It seems that IMDb is an unreliable source for TV Show metadata... and (coincidental?) after searching through online sources within boxee, these new shows don't offer online sources to watch episodes yet. This leads me to believe that if you can't watch it online, boxee doesn't fetch metadata like it should. Is there any way boxee could access thetvdb.com for TV Shows as well as IMDb? They have such better metadata! Or even TV Rage...just something better! Has anyone found a workaround to get better metadata for TV Shows?

Yes, it's a coincidence. I have a number of items in my local collection that are not available online.

Yes, there are problems with IMDB and identifying, especially with the OS version versus the Box version.

In order to hit a wider market, better metadata agents need to be implemented! To Dar, I'm not having issues with boxee not recognizing shows...they are recognized fine. Problem is, there is not sufficient metadata available for all shows since it only comes from IMDb. Many shows lack something as simple as a poster. The show is recognized, and there is usually a plot for what the show is about, and that's it. Often times episodes aren't getting any data, so it just lists the show plot as individual episode plots. Boxee desperately needs to implement other metadata agents, not just for a wider range of American shows, but for international shows that are not on IMDb.

Short answer: NFOs have been implemented for v1.1 and newer; unfortunately, this version is not available on OS platforms.

NFOs can be used for ANY show or movie, including home movies, things not listed in any online databases, etc.

If (when?) NFOs become available for the OS platform, relying on anything online becomes a moot point.

Ah, another reason why we desperately need an update doe Mac OS X... I rarely have a problem with movies, but TV Shows for sure. I also recently generated nfo's for my TV Show directory so I'm ready when that update arrives!
