The new ways seems to be to sort your Local Shows and Local Movies via "Recently Added" on those respective screens.

hoping for a list
i was thinking of having an actual list that showed what was recently added and what of those was watched... the main reason is for tv. It is a pain in the ass to go through every single show i have to see if there are new episodes.

Yup -- I'm just pointing out that given the current state of the UI, how you can sorta (but not totally) get the same thing...
Though, favorited TV shows still get added to the Watch Later queue too, where you can remove items after they've been watched.

I second this.
Trawling through apps is not a nice experience. If my subscribed feeds were all in one list, in order of date, with alerts to tell me new content has arrived, I would find it a much more tech-savvy addition to my home theater.
