    Good work!

But I can't seem to get them to work. Do I need to rename the extension?

I too love my Boxee Box, and is also happy with the new support for NFO-files. I happily started creating NFO-files for the few movies my Boxee Box didn't recognize properly. But when I started on the second one, I immediately thought (as the developer I am), I can code my way out of this...

So I did. I created this little web-site to assist in creation and download of movie NFO-files for the Boxee Box. It uses www.themoviedb.org to get data for the NFO-file.

When I clicked on the NFO link, it downloaded a plaintext file with an nfo extension already.

What OS are you on and what browser are you using?

An nfo file may be specified either for Tv show seasons or a specific episodes (or both).

An nfo for an episode must be named exactly the same as the media file name just with an .nfo extension.

An nfo for the tvshow must be named tvshow.nfo

Please note that an Episode.nfo will overwrite Tvshow.nfo fields

    Ex for tvshow:

    tvshow.nfo
    folder.jpg
    [folder with season 1]

    Ex for episode:

    tvshowname.S01E04.avi
    tvshowname.S01E04.nfo

When I download them, they save as xxx.nfo.xml files, and consequently don't getpicked up by Boxee.

Incidently, the .nfo that has ever worked for me was the Surf Ninjas nfo that someone posted earlier in this thread.

I've tried using Safari and Firefox. I'm on a Mac

You should save them as moviefiletitle.nfo (not xml). You can then identify them manually in Boxee and you should get the choice between NFO and Manual (which is the normal identify search) Sometimes you need a rescan of your movie library to get it to work

Maybe contact the site owner as there seems to be a similar bug related to using the Opera browser: http://nfo.sprocket.dk/Bugs.aspx

    http://nfo.sprocket.dk/Contact.aspx to contact him.
