Hi all,
I would like to implement CallerID on screen from my IP-PBX. We have the opportunity to integrate Boxee with Asterisk, as has been done with the roll your own boxee device.
I want to do this with the Boxee Box now, please let me know if this is possible or how to go about doing this.

Thanks!

The folks over at Twilio did manage to get this done by running a Comet server with asyncore in the app listening for a call.
I'm sure the same could be done with any SIP server. I'd recommend running some sort of asyncore listener in a thread.

Seeing how it's the same software Id like the ability to add the entries without any extra processes, servers, services, apps, or connections. Is there a way to SSH into the boxee box to make these modifications? Part of the draw to boxee is the custom aspect. If I can not make the same mods to a boxee box as the actual software running on a PC, what's the point? I may as well return the box...

Afraid the BB is now locked down. Due to supporting online services, like Netflix.

Although this is an old post, this may be of some use to someone else...
I have gotten Caller ID notifications working with the Boxee Box using the Boxee JSON RPC API and an Asterisk AGI script written in Python.
Please see my post about this here http://forums.boxee.tv/showthread.php?t=54118
