Default How are you folk with Harmony remotes setting your Boxee up?

Just wanted to know how people have set there Harmony remotes with the Boxee Box.

Now I know you need an Ir dongle and that you can't turn the BB on with the Harmony. I have heard that some people leave the BB on in sleep mode so they can turn it on with the Harmony.

I was thinking this would be an alright idea but i don't like the idea of my attached HD always being on. I've checked and the Hd doesn't spin down when the BB goes to sleep or turn off.

So I just wanted to know how most people get round this limitation.

    Thanks.

Not sure what this has got to do with using a Harmony remote or not...

Edit: wait, do you mean "Hd doesn't spin down or turn off when the BB goes to sleep" (which is a slight but important difference due to word order )

In which case, there are limited choices:

    1) leave the BB on (or sleep mode which doesn't save you any power anyhow) along with the external drive (why not? I have 7 drives on 7x24 in my WHS system)

    or

    2) power off the BB and turn it back on via the BB's own power button or via the Boxee remote.

    That's it.

You need a different HD enclosure. One that spins down the disk when the Boxee Box is asleep and/or off. There should already be some talk of this in other threads where people have made brand recommendations.

It does spin down and turn off once the Boxee is turned off but not when it sleeps.

Think I'll just turn the Boxee back on manually, don't fancy spending or messing around with another Hd enclosure.

    thanks.

There are times when the WHS does give me a scare or two

(no worries about the grammar, just trying to get at what you need / want to do, is all )
