I see the option "enable web interface" port 8888.
http://boxeehost:8888 responds with "Document Error" cannot open URL.
This is definitely a response from the boxee web server.

the web server functionality in boxee is still "under construction"![]()
@vulkan, the default port is for a webserver is usually 8080, (not 8888), please consider it![]()

actually we changed to 8888 due to the defaults. we do not want it to colide with any existing web server or proxy. 8080 is very frequently used by applications.
ah, there is maybe where XBMC and Boxee differ? XBMC is designed to run as the only application on the box, (as a stand-alone box dedicated for only for XBMC), thus there should be no conflicts as XBMC should be the only software on that box. Boxee on the other hand is maybe designed to run as a desktop application and work along side other software on the same computer?

well - that was relevant on the xbox, i agree.
but with all the current variants - xbmc and boxee are used very frequently as yet-another-application on a non-standalone machine.
Under construction huh? Well the "document error" makes sense now!
My boxee box is actually anHTPC. It is the one and only app running. I'll switch it to port 80 when the web interface is available.

just note that for port 80 you'll need to run as root...
have you tried this url http://localhost:8800/default.asp
