    Default A more interesting idea...

An idea that would keep kids from deleting files, but make it easier than always having to enter a password for each deleted file; authentication through iOS/Android app.

The boxee app could be paired to or given permission for a specific boxee function, like manual deletion of files. Clicking "delete" on a file would mark it for deletion (but not actually do so), as well as send a push notification to any boxee-apped smartphones saying "1 file added to deletion list". Until that phone (or phones; this doesn't have to be limited to one) gives permission, the file remains listed, with a deletion imminent badge on it. Once permission is granted, it's deleted.

Marked files would show up in a list, where they could be individually selected for deletion, or a "delete all" button would be available. You could pick and choose what to delete.

As well, the app could list all files available to the boxee, and deletion could be done without a request.

All of this could be done remotely, outside of local network if need be.

totally in favor of this feature. simple delete button and confirmation is fine. no password required as suggested above, otherwise it is a pain to enter that each time.

    Exclamation This must happen

I am new to Boxee but I am thinking of retunring my Boxee because it has no delete feature. I have mine connected to a NAS and it is really a pain to not be able to delete files after viewing! The SageTV system I stil use on a few tvs allows this as a basic feature and I am finding that I cannot really enjoy boxee without this feature. Please make it this function happen fast!

I kinda found a way to make it a bit easier (only for android users, but I am sure there are plenty of an i-alternatives as well) - https://market.android.com/details?i...gs.android.pop lets you manage shared folders via wi-fi. At least I don't need to go to my PC every time I finish watching something, so I won't forget what to erase.

It's kinda silly though, cause "delete" feature is so obiously should have been there from the very beginning.

YES!! My Sage TV box does this (as well as the delete function) and it was very handy! The play button is already there and when I highlight a movie or file it would be great to just start it playing. Overall my Boxee is slower than my Sage box and elliminating this one step would help things go a little quicker. (Both systems connect to my NAS and neither use added software.)

+1 I've been using my terrible Patriot box more often than Boxee because of this missing feature
