Default Just bought it tonight - Unidentified video's

Boxeebox found 1800 files, but 87 were unidentified. Most of them are home movies and such (not all some are music video's)..... How do I make it not care that they are unidentified (because I do not care) and put them in with the rest of the movies?

Also I have "private" movies on here... Yesw adult content. How do I lock JUST those movies out so the kids can not see them?

hmm, for the home movies, you can either create NFO's to have them show up in your wall or you can put them in a separate share and set it to never scan. You can then browse them by "files" and they won't clog up your wall. I think.

Regarding adult content, I'm not sure if there is any feature to block it

I assumed I could because there is an "Adult" setting and allows you to set a password.

And sorry but NFO? I am new to this and have no idea what that means, or how I do it........ But I like the idea of creating a group it does not scan.

The adult stuff, I think you have to setup another Boxee login as I believe your sources are stored under that and under that login you will want to turn adult stuff off and put a password on it (http://boxee.zendesk.com/entries/323080-settings-adult). Only add the sources with non adult stuff in under the new login and I would also make sure you password protect the adult share so that cannot be browsed in files menu.

Regarding NFOs ... I think you will be a really good test case for the Boxee documentation ... read this and see if it helps... and let us know where bits are confusing or don't make sense.

Be aware the boxee obviously has a browser so that bit is harder to control adult content wise. Unless you have a router side website filter.

I know there have been a few comments on the forum about the adult settings so have a search and they might help you or make you not want to leave the room when your kids are using it!!!

EDIT - OH and welcome to the forum ... its an awesome little box even if it does have a few little issues at the moment... enjoy!

Just saw this... I will check it out next week when I am home from work (I travel on the road) and let you know what happens.

The adult content I am no longer worried about, I burned it off and the Boxee can not scan for it anymore, it is more the unidentified movies that I would like to resolve.

    Thanks for the post.

Have a look at this sticky for information on creating .nfo file for your movies. This will allow for title, description, cover art etc for files that the box can't get known information for.
