Anyone have the issue with their boxee box randomly turning on. The last week or so when I wake up in the morning I've noticed it on about 5 times. The weird part is I haven't used it in the last week.

i think you should RMA your spooky self-aware monstrosity![]()
Im new here. Is there a post on how to RMA?
I just witnessed my boxee do this too actually.
I figure it is due to one of three things.
1) Boxee Android app. Boxee turned on as soon ad my phone connected to my home WiFi, I have a boxee remote on my android phone and I wonder if when it connected to the wifi it "polls" my boxee. Then Boxee thinks it as a wakeup command. Do you use a Boxee \ XBMC remote on your mobile? Do you use TVersity?
2) Dying battery in the remote \ someone else has the same pair code (highly unlikely) as me.
3) Replicated RF interference (do you live in a apartment building?) making boxee think its being requested to boot up.
Have you had any luck with figuring out why it boots up yet?
I have not yet figured it out. My boxee hasn't done this in about a week now. I don't use the android app so that can't be it. I doubt my remote battery is low cause I'm not seeing the on screen alert in version 1.1. I do live in an apt building but its small so I don't think its my neighbors. Maybe my fios remote I use to control everything is doing it?
Is the Fios remote use RF or do you have to point it at the unit?
Its just like a universal remote you get from your cable company. You have to point it at the device.
I noticed this yesterday for the first time. We were having some people over and suddenly I noticed the boxee starting to glow green. I know nobody was touching it or the remote because it was placed over by the boxee.
I've set it to scan for new content every hour, perhaps it's "waking" up to do this after the 1.1 upgrade? It's connected to a LAN with lot's of other devices (phones, ipad, xbox, pcs, servers etc) so it might have gotten some "impulses" from one of those as well.
