    Default Onkyo problem!

I have a Boxee box connected to my Onkyo 807, but i can not get any audio through HDMI. Picture is ok, in the right corner it`s coming a message " failed to initialize audio device check your audiosettings" I have trayed everything 10 times! But it`s not getting any better. I can get the audio using spdif cabel, but just in 2 channel! Someone have the same problem or any advice?

What settings are you using in Settings>>System>>Audio?

What audio settings are you using for the input on the Onkyo?

My Boxee Box works perfectly with my Onkyo (TX-SR606), it is both older and lesser in features than the 807. I have all of the audio options in the BB set-up turned on, since the receiver supports them all.

Double-check that the audio source for the input is set to HDMI in the Onkyo set-up menu.

I have a RC270 and ahvent had any issues either. As others have said ensure that you have the HDMI audio selected in the audio section of Boxee. You will also want to make sure that the HDMI input is set up correctly on the Onkyo.

Just to pile on to the it works group, I have an Onkyo 607 AND 705 and have no issues with either of them(other than the dropped few seconds audio here and there that everyone else is having).

This sounds like one of the following...

    A) You don't have the correct HDMI input associated with the output you have selected.

    B) There is something wrong with the way you ripped the files.

    C) your HDMI cable has something wrong with it.

I would try changing the input port you are using for Boxee's HDMI input and see if that changes anything. Just besure to associate that HDMI input with the output you are selecting.

In the Onkyo set-up menu, you need to make sure that HDMI is selected for the audio on the specific input that you are using for the Boxee Box. Make sure that everything is set-up properly in the Onkyo menu.

This would pretty much put the problem with your Onkyo receiver. I have no familiarity with Onkyo products but the Onkyo settings is where I would concentrate all my trouble-shooting.
