Remote Launcher - start Boxee remotely from your Android device
I've developed a small app that lets you start Boxee remotely from your Android device with a single click (you can also use it to start any other program, shutdown/restart the computer or run a custom script but Boxee/XBMC was the use case that I needed it for originally).
To use Remote Launcher you need to install the Remote Launcher Server on your PC. Downloads, installation instructions, user guides and examples are available on the project wiki:
The Remote Launcher server is written in Java so it should work on any pc with the Java Runtime Enviromnment installed (version 1.6 or later), be it Linux, Windows or Mac OS. It has been tested on Ubuntu and Windows 7.
It's also possible to automate Remote Launcher using Android intents. That makes it possible to use it together with tools such as Tasker. A possible use case would be to automatically shut down Boxee and/or your computer when you leave the house.
A free (ad supported) version is available on the Android market:
A $0.99 version without ads is also available:
If you're interested please give it a whirl and let me know if you find any bugs or have feature requests!

0.2.15 of the app has just been released!
This release adds support for Android Shortcuts. Besides being nice to have on the home screen for easy access to launchers (basically the same as the widgets that are already available but slightly different look), this makes it really easy to use Remote Launcher together with Llama to automate tasks, e.g. "shutdown computer when leaving home" or "send wake on lan package and start boxee when I get back home".

This version fixes a Wake On Lan issue in Honeycom/Ice cream sandwich as well as another annoying bug...

0.2.18 is out!
Now the server port is also shown in the server selection dialog to make the servers more easily distringuishable.
A bug that caused the wake on lan widget configuration dialog to crash when the server list is empty has also been fixed.
