That was very helpful, thanks. I didn't realize a USB -> BB would be shareable across the network. Very interesting, I'm getting a solid 25 Mbps uploading from my media host Win 7 box. That's still not nearly as fast as I would like, but much faster than the rates I was getting streaming the file.

...not sure what to do with this info though.

what is the transfer speed from the laptop to the BB USB drive? If they are the same, then it's not a transfer speed issue.

did you also swap out cables to rule that out?

There are a couple of network performance registry tweaks for Win 7 floating around that several people have reported success with. Here's the one from the "tips for network shares" sticky thread.

    Give it a shot.

@ Bryan - Transfer speeds to the USB drive from the laptop are fine, about what you'd expect from a 2.0 connection. I'll try the cable swap when I get home from work this am.

@ Prospero424 - Thanks for weighing in. I've tried that tweak and it did seem to give me a moderate boost, but nothing near the speeds that others are reporting over wired ethernet.

I've heard a lot of similar complaints on the boards. Are there network setups / router brands that Boxee just doesn't play nice with?

Today I plan on connecting the BB and my PC both to the router directly (bypassing my coaxial connection) and see if that makes a difference. I'll follow up on if that helps
