Control audio volume with the Apple Remote Control

Ok, first of all, I'd like to say that I've just been trying this software for one day, but I couldn't find any way to control the volume with the Apple Remote Control.

I think that'd be a very usefull thing to work on it.

are you only having this issue on flash sites? (hulu, cbs, th we, etc)

if so, it's a limitation of flash video in boxee, right now... if you are having this issue in all of boxee, let us know; as that would be a bug.

Yea it's kind of annoying but it's a limitation to the flash based videos as I understand it. However couldn't boxee control the system volume instead? Not sure if that's possible or if it would work, just a thought.

kinda... the way sdl works is that it controls the local application volume. to overcome this the team will have to make boxee control the system volume instead of using sdl.

while this is simple in concept, they have to do it for three operating systems, and change the core of xbmc/boxee not to use sdl for volume control.

it's not a quick/simple fix.

I have my Macbook output to my home theater speakers and tv. Then control Boxee and speakers with my Harmony remote. On the harmony remote made channel up and down control speaker volume and volume up and down control Boxee volume.

I admit that I never use the Boxee volume only my speaker volume (this works perfectly for me). If I'm only viewing on Macbook I'm then close enough to press the Macbook volume keys on the keyboard. I'm sure the Boxee team will figure something out to fix the volume issue. Making Boxee control the system volume sounds like a good choice. Not sure how difficult that would be.

I'm having the same issue with the volume for flash videos.

Since I'm not in the position to tell you what to do and what not to do, here's just my thought on it: I think that it would be a very important feature to be able to control the volume of flash videos too.
