Out of sync issues, local and online content.
This is my first topic/post, be gentle
I've been reading many topics here and also looked trough Jira, to find a proper solution, but sadly still no go. The last 3 years I've been using WDTV (1 generation with custom firmware for LAN integration), in those years I didn't have any sync issues. After 3 years, I wanted to upgrade my media player/center to have better online content, native LAN support, covers and so on, so I decided to buy a Boxee Box.
I used the first 2-3 days to check out apps, adding different repositories, VPN testing, literally played around with the BBox to learn the different options. After some days I wanted to see a movie, thats the first time I noticed sync issues between video and audio. The BBox is hooked up in the same way as my old wdtv, i've used the same HDMI and toslink cables.
This diagram shows the connections.
Instantly the BBox wow factor fell from 10 to 1, the online features is nice to have, but the reason for buying it was to watch movies/tv-shows, my investment in BBox resulted in "frustrations" because of sync issues on all my local content.
Searching this forum, gave me these results.
Audio out of Sync - almost all the time
After reading trough, testing game modes, switching off picture motionflow, I still have sync issues with BBox on all content, and perfect sync with wdtv on all content (FYI wdtv is still in sync with motionflow activated). I noticed in one of the threads, that a guy wrote that a delay should be added to the sound, because of the delay made by the picture processing with motionflow.
Logitech z-5500 doesn't provide any delay options, and for some reason the BBox delay option doesn't work on DTS/Dolby, if I remember correctly it works with mp3 and ac3 sound 2ch. In my eager to fix this annoying sync problem, another investment was made. I upgraded my "home cinema surround" $3700
This diagram shows the new connections.
The Denon receiver offers audio delay between 0-200ms (1ms stepping). It is now possible to set delay near sync, but after 1-3 minutes it goes out of sync again. Denon also gives lipsync options, but the content is still not in sync with BBox. I've tested the same content on wdtv (perfect sync), it was not in sync on first connect, I needed to add delay, but after adding delay, I have perfect sync on all content.
Because of all these problems the BBox is useless to me, I know by reading in here and other places, that I'm not alone with this problem.
Thanks for taking the time to read through.
What to do, thanks in advance?

Decided to return the box, this drift problem should have been resolved now imo..
After I'd search some more, I noticed that engadget had the same problem (drifting with the sync, impossible to have perfect sync).
I suggest the boxee team setup two list.
White list, tv's that work with Boxee box.
Black list, tv's that doesn't work with boxee box.
If such list had been available the Boxee / Dlink would have saved me from spending money on a useless box, and also saved my time.
#Edit - notice sent to all in staff, page screenshot saved.
