    Default More USB issues

I have looked at every USB disconnecting thread on here and the problems seem to be varied with many people and no known fixes for my issue so excuse me for another USB thread.

I personally have two 2TB WD Element drives attached to my BB and every once and awhile one of them will randomly disconnect. I have tried many connection methods: USB hub, Powered USB hub, and directly into the back of the box.

My box stays off for the most part with no power running to it until i am ready to watch something, so I'm not sure if that's an issue. Usually it would take a few days before something would disconnect, but now after a recent re-scrape it happens every few min or if I try and identify a movie it happens. Logging out of my account and back in seems to fix it.

My experience with this box has been very up and down. I love the UI and streaming capabilities in comparison to the WDTV Live I was using before this. Yet constantly having to re-scrape my drives for content it has found many times before and not seeming to be able to get something as simple as custom poster art to work correctly are really starting to make me second guess my investment. I sincerely hope little bugs like these are worked out in the new firmware. In the meantime if anyone has any ideas of whats going on and how to fix it i would greatly appreciate it.

    Default very let down...

I thought that I had a small breakthrough with the BB when after changing the folder structure and file names of over 200+ movies my custom movie posters finally showed up!!!!

...but soon as the box got shut off all those images vanished and now only grey squares are shown. So I suppose my only choice is to re-scrape everything I have every single time I want to watch anything.

My disconnect issues have not gotten any better and I was incorrect when I said the switching user accounts helped...it didn't it only looked like it did, if you try to play any of the files you get the not attached message and the drive disconnects again.

Any help with this? Is anyone else having the same problems?

    Default for the curious...

I think my drive disconnect issues may have been caused by having either 2 of the same drives connected to the box...or maybe just a bogus drive.

I noticed when the drives where connected to my PC and I went to eject them they both show up as Ext HDD 1021. So maybe that was causing an issue? I am also wondering if it was a bogus drive as the only drive that ever disconnected was the drive containing all my movies. I swapped my movies over to my second 2tb drive and moved my TV shows over to a 1tb my book drive. After restarting the BB a bunch and trying some of the other things I had done to make the older drive disconnect it doesn't seem to do it anymore.

So hopefully things are all better.

The 2 identical drive issue is a known issue and is supposed to be fixed with the coming update I believe.

    Default nope...

I was wrong again. Now my 1tb my book drive disconnects every once and awhile. No where near as much as was happening before but still annoying.
