In my journey with TV over the internet am going to try the other end of the DIY HTPC route with a used Acer Revo 3610. I'll start out playing with (gasp!) Windows 7 it shipped with and eventually pick up an external enclosure and a small SSD drive to run inside the box so it will be a mean, lean Linux machine when booted internally most of the time, Windows machine when booted from the formally internal now external drive for the odd Windows app Ubuntu won't run.

The Revo was cheap and while its dual core ion 330 is "just enough" for 1080 Flash with updated drivers I have always been a Mac guy. Will be an interesting adventure.

I still love my ATV1's and still use them daily. I will still check the forum from time to time but I'm curious to tinker with other OS's and try a little set top box that won't choke on Flash.

I'm curious what the trip to the dark side (Windows) and lighter but geekier side (Ubuntu) will be like.
