Thread: Boxee Remote Battery?

  1. #1

    Default Boxee Remote Battery?

    Question!
How is the battery life on the Boxee remote? And what kind of battery does it use? I can't seem to find it online any where. I would like to know this before I buy it; I have done my research this is the only thing I don't know about Boxee Box.

    Thanks

    It's a CR2032 3V Lithium (round type) battery.

Mine lasted about 5 months of daily use.

Please tell me how you noticed your battery dies... I've got strange behavior when each click on remote was executed 3 times on boxee, I thought my kids broke it, but was surprised that after replacing the battery it disappeared
I was lucky that this is the same battery like my garage opener has and I always have spare batteries in my pantry

I you also noticed this behavior - I think this info should be put on boxee knowledgebase.

i had my boxee box for 1 month then the battery in the remote died. not that long lasting..

and before it died it had a red battery-indicator in the top-menu (besides the settings-icon)

search boxee remote on amazon , or go to the boxee box and see what they recomend you buy with it..i found a really cool remote for like $30 that has a mouse pad, is rechargeable ,and even has a baclit keypad and a laser to boot...works way better than the d link boxee remote for most anything...and recharges right from the boxee usb

Battery life is indeed not very good. I've been replacing with a new big brand battery every 1-2 months.

Wouldnt recommend it particularly if you are running xbmclive / ubuntu.

I thought my battery was dying so I replaced it.
Now the remote doesn't work at all.
    :sigh:
