Default Upcomng NFO support - Ember Media Manager

Since .nfo support is coming out in the near future and I have seen a lot of people complaining about how to set up the files I figured I would help out.

I will outline what I use and the setting I have to get the .nfo output to match the Boxee format found here http://support.boxee.tv/entries/5102...ng-an-nfo-file

    Installing Ember Media Manager

First if you dont have Ember Media Manager get it here:
    Newer/maintained version is here: http://ember.purplepig.net/projects/embermm/files

(This is the old version: http://sourceforge.net/projects/emm-...p.exe/download)

Is this for the PC version of Boxee? Or the Boxee Box? Will the box even support tbn images? or trailer links that you can select? I hope so.

    Extra Info
I use TheRenamer to rename all my Movies and TV Shows to the correct format. Its has tons of settings to fit everyone's personal naming style from showname.SSEE.episode to showname - SXXEXX - episode.
    Download: http://www.therenamer.com/

I use IrfanView to re-size all my images to lower file-size/quicker load on Boxee Box. IrfanView has a batch re-size option to re-size all your selected pictures to a specific size in one go. Boxee uses 299x434 at 720p resolution so this is what I use for both Movie posters and TV posters.
    Download: http://www.irfanview.com/

Once again if you have any questions about any of this feel free to ask and Ill do my best to help out.

Thank you for the response. I Used your format to scrape my movies but the .tbn images don't seem to show up. Does the folder structure of the drive need to be a certain way? thank you for any help you can provide.

I currently have a 2TB drive labeled Movies, and all my films in individual folders on it. Should they not be in folders?

As of now the best way to get .tbn images to show up is to clear your database and have Boxee rescan all your sources. If you have a bunch of ones that you had to identify manually though I wouldn't do this just yet. Just wait for the .nfo update and it then it will correctly identify all your movies and add your local covers to them also.

    example of my structure
    Movies
    --Avatar (2009)
    ----Avatar (2009).tbn
    ----Avatar (2009).nfo
    ----Avatar (2009).mkv

All my movies are in individual folders with their corresponding .tbns and .nfos named the same.

This should work great for the upcoming release but if you have any questions feel free to ask.
I agree, it should indeed work very well

Glad you agree and glad I could help! Wish I could get a more concrete implementation of it but I am not in the EA group nor do I have a Box here (bought it for my parents to use at home).

I have my movies in individual folders and Ember Media Manager actually created the NFO files as movie.NFO. Will this work or will the NFO files need to have the same name as the movie file such as Avatar.mkv/Avatar.nfo or will it work with Avatar.mkv/movie.nfo?

You can configure EMM to use the same name as the file/movie (follow the instructions above, basically references to <movie>.nfo is what you want) which I know will work.
