    Default 'Error Downloading Application"

Please help! Everytime I try to open an "App" such as Netflix, mlb.tv, boxee browser (all of them) I get an error message of "error downloading application" This is really frustrating because it was working fine yesterday. I called the support line and in the end when we couldn't figure out the problem he suggested posting to this forum so hopefully there is an answer out there. Has anyone seen this error/ problem before?

I reset all settings and am running the latest version of software.

    Thanks

Yip - mine did this from taking it out the box and updating the firmware.

Very frustrating - and not a good first experience, it cost $138 just for shipping (to South Africa).

Unfortunately, now that I have the device, I see that it is plagued with issues.

Oh - and using a wired connection.

Have look at the following, not sure if it'll help: http://jira.boxee.tv/browse/BOXEE-8595

    I'll also try tonight...

I have this problem every once in a while as well where apps will not load or error out.

Having read through the jira mentioned here I did a trace route and always get a 'request timed out' on one of the hops to appdl.boxee.tv before it continues on to complete the hops.

I tried this from both one of my computers and from the diagnostics page in my router.

If I do a trace route from my computer at work (which uses the same ISP as I do at home) I don't get the 'request timed out problem.

Can anybody tell me if the above is the cause of my issue or a cause for further investigation at all, or is it common to have this message?

It seems to be intermittent - I'm not actually sure the problem is my side as I don't have problems with routing to any other sites.

Last night I could download and run apps.

I've also noticed apps I add to Favourites get removed intermittently.
