    Default A question for programers...

    My collection is probably over a 1000 DVD discs ranging from "A Bridge Too Far" to "Zathura", I have them all alphabetized and divided among 10 "CD" books. Im about through with the first 2 books uploded to a 2TB drive and still have about 1TB left so I know I will not have enough room when my 4TB NAS is finished. Is there a way I could still list my movie on Boxee Box and it would still show the cool poster art and stuff but when I click on play it would just tell me that it is in my "hard" collection and possible what book it is in? That way I could just go into my storage and pull the DVD out to watch it? I would only do this with my more obscure stuff that I don't feel I would watch often or soon. Thanks

    One approach would be to create "stub" files (larger in size than the minimum size you have set to be scanned: Settings>>Media>>Advanced "Do not resolve videos under this size (MB) - 50(default)".

    One stub for each DVD you have. Any kind of file will do, as long as it's large enough (or you reduce the previous setting to small enough) and you override the default extension to be .avi or any other default video type.

    OSX or Linux the following should create a dummy file for you.

    dd if=/dev/zero of=dummy.avi bs=8k count=69 && sync
