@iansampaio they are all nice ideas but none of them is related to the SERVER api. All of them a boxee apps feature requests. This is not the best thread for them...

    What's new about API ?
I would like to use entries in a source folder in order to create .nfo with a home made app.
    Is it possible ?
    I haven't found this information ...

    Thanks,
    Regards

Boxee's servers don't know what entries you have in your source folders (we do not save this information while resolving the content), so the Boxee Server API (which this thread is about) can't provide this service. I suggest opening a feature request on JIRA for the client team.

On the server side, I'd like the ability to add items to my queue without having to use the (often unreliable) bookmarklet. Right now I have to add the URL to Delicious with a special tag and then load that tag's RSS feed in Boxee.

Maybe also a way for website owners and/or users to contribute to your bookmarklet parser (see http://www.instapaper.com/bodytext as an example) so more sites & services can be supported.

@andreslucero - getting the queue, adding to it and removing from it will be supported in the server public api.

regarding the reliability of the bookmarklet - this is a known issue - and we are about to release a new one soon.

Default Absolutely adding to the queue

I've been trying to figure out forever (ok, I didn't try that hard) how to push items onto the queue to build myself a pseudo podcatcher.

I'm late to the game here, but I'd love to see as much info from all of your tables as possible in a JSON format

I want to be able to view/create/update/delete/search all video sections:
    - Watch it Later
    - Shows
    - Movies
    - Apps

For each table, I'd like to see common tasks:
    - Get last watched/used timestamp
    - Is Clip/show/movie Hearted? + timestamp
    - Is Favorite? (app/show/movie)
    - Was it shared?

    Other sections:
    - Services - view
    - Friends - view/create/update/delete/search, include email address
    - Feeds - view/create/update/delete/search/subscribed
    - Profile - view/update personal details photo. This is an enhancement to app but would also like an option for users to enter social video URLs (Facebook/YouTube/Vimeo) on their profiles, and ultimately available to the API
    - Homepage - Is the homepage global, or per user? If it's per user I'd like the ability to view/update/insert/delete/search a user's homepage.
    - Parental Lock enabled/disabled? Disable if not PW protected
    - Browser - view/update/insert/delete/search Favorites?

I'd also be interested in joining the API beta early if possible. I've seen info in your wiki containing info on the API already, so I know it's out there

I think it was not clear enough - We are talking about boxee data API, not related to the client software.

The Idea is to give app developers an API for (examples):
Getting the users' watch later queue or friends feed,
    Share videos for a user
Adding content or details to our Meta data Library
Uploading a new app version and so on.

User related data will require a user to give your application privileges.
    no spam. kthxbye

Has there been any progress made toward getting this API created? Where can we see a timeline for API release? How can we beta-test it?
