    Default Music Playlists/Music Display

    Hi guys,

I was wondering if I where the only one that has diffculties accepting the default way of displaying and playing music when using a large library?

My question is: is there another way around this, like perhaps an app?

I mean it's not very usable that the player (once an artist or album has been choosen) just shows the list of tracks but if you want listen to something else you have to navigate all the way back.

Don't know if this makes any sense but I'd appreciate any input regarding Music display and playlists.

Your two best choices, both of which require installing other software that integrate with Boxee or an app in Boxee:

    1) AssetUPnP -- installs a very music friendly UPnP service, free/limited version available, full feature version is around $25 (Google it). Once installed you'll find it on Boxee via Files>>Browse>>Network>>UPnP>>AssetUPnP

    2) SUB-BOX -- a Boxee app that connects to a subsonic server you install (http://subsonic.org)

In both cases you point the software to your music collection (force subsonic to do the initial search/indexing after you've added your music folders to it) and then point Boxee (or SUB-BOX) to it and off you go!

I was using #1 until #2 came along

P.S. I create my own playlists and store them where Boxee can see them if I want to use them with Boxee's native player. Of the two above, I believe that SUB-BOX provides better support for creating playlists within the app.

Hey thanks for the quick reply!

It definately seems like a great initiative and I'm now trying to connect it to my Qnap NAS box that can use UPNP (DLNA media server) through Bonjour. Not sure if this will work but I'll post some updates on my progress

    Update:
I also tried to add the address to my NAS share http://192.168.1.75/Qmultimedia/Music but it didn't accept that
